Our Story
SOLVER-AI was founded to address a recurring failure seen across complex engineering and operational systems:
data is collected and analysed, but rarely translated into decisions systems can reliably act on.
Founded in 2022 by Dr. Paolo Fantini, SOLVER-AI emerged from more than two decades of experience building and deploying advanced engineering and computational systems in environments where correctness, validation, and long-term operability are non-negotiable.
Across aerospace, industrial, and infrastructure domains, the same pattern repeated: predictive models could be built, but deploying them as reliable, evolving operational services remained fragile, bespoke, or unsustainable.
SOLVER-AI was created to close that gap — delivering per-asset predictive services as APIs, designed to earn operational trust and evolve safely over time.
The company focuses on long-term customer partnerships, applying disciplined engineering to enable prediction in real systems rather than demonstrations or dashboards.
SOLVER-AI is a member of NVIDIA's Inception Program and is supported by Innovate UK.
Dr. Paolo Fantini (Co-Founder)
Dr. Paolo Fantini founded SOLVER-AI after repeatedly encountering the same limitation across advanced engineering projects: predictive models could be created, but deploying them as reliable, evolving operational services remained difficult and fragile.
His background spans more than two decades of aerospace engineering, software development, and computational modelling in domains where systems must operate correctly over long lifecycles.
Key experience includes:
- Founder and full-time operator of SOLVER-AI since 2021.
- Over 20 years in aerospace engineering and software development.
- Design and deployment of advanced tools for high-performance engineering systems.
- Collaboration with leading global organisations across multiple industries on safety- and performance-critical projects.
- Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Cranfield University.
David Carmalt (Co-Founder)
David Carmalt brings extensive experience in capital markets, scaling businesses, and commercial governance — complementing SOLVER-AI's engineering-led foundation with financial and strategic discipline.
His background supports SOLVER-AI's focus on building a sustainable platform business rather than bespoke consulting engagements.
